A Guide to the Birds of the British Isles – Image 4

The inspiration for the 4th image in the series comes from The Hardy Tree which is situated In the churchyard of St Pancras Old Church in London, an ash tree is circled by gravestones more information here:

A reference photograph I took in the summer of 2013.

I have started constructing the tree. A cardboard tube is used as an armature and then alloy mesh is attached to the cardboard tube which has been glued to a polystyrene base. This is then covered with plaster bandage. I have roughly cut some Kapa lined foam gravestones that await sanding into shape.
