Kapa (lined) Foam Board Gravestones Part 2

The next stage to creating the gravestones is to distress them and to give them an aged weathered look. For this I use a small wire brush to gently abrade the surface of the foam, again care is needed with this as its quite easy to rub more off then you really want to. I use a small dentists tool to create the impression of text on the gravestone and the P240A sandpaper to rub the stone down further all this texturing is then just smoothed over with the sandpaper.

A watery grey paint mixture (Golden Acrylics Neutral Gray N5) is made up with a drop of washing up liquid (to enable the paint to fill in the small crevices. This is all left to dry for 24 hours as the foam will soak up a lot of moisture.
